Meet Courtney Chileen-Torres
Clinical Director, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor, International Certified Gambling Counselor-II
In my 20 + years of experience, I have worked in community mental health as both a therapist and as a clinical supervisor. I received my Master's in Social Work (MSW) from the Rutgers University in 2007 and hold two Bachelors degrees- a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Stockton University in 2003, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, from Stockton University in 2004.
For the past 8 years, I have been working as a Readjustment Counselor with active military and veterans. I provide mental health counseling to combat veterans of all eras, victims of military sexual trauma, as well as supportive therapy for spouses of military members.
My niche is working with adults, especially first responders with mental health concerns, clients with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders, as well as gambling disorders. I am a LCADC (Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor), and am also an ICGC-II (International Certified Gambling Counselor level 2). I have extensive experience working with individuals who have PTSD and trauma. I use an eclectic approach, primarily CBT, but will also use motivational interviewing, client centered, DBT and mindfulness.
A fun fact about me is that I love to travel and explore- I have visited 22 different countries to date.
I look forward to meeting you and working together.
