Meet Courtney Chileen-Torres

In my 15 + years of experience, I have worked in community mental health in as both a therapist and supervisor. I received my Master's in Social Work (MSW) from the Rutgers University in 2007 and hold two Bachelors degrees- a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Stockton University in 2003, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, from Stockton University in 2004.

For the past 6 years, I have been working as a Readjustment Counselor at the South Jersey Vet Center, which is under the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. I provide mental health counseling to combat veterans of all eras, victims of military sexual trauma, as well as supportive therapy for spouses of military members.

My niche is working with adults, especially first responders with mental health problems, clients with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders, as well as gambling disorders. I hold a certification as an LCADC (Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor), and am also an ICGC-II (International Certified Gambling Counselor level 2). I have extensive experience working with individuals who have PTSD and trauma. I use an eclectic approach, primarily CBT, but will also use motivational interviewing and mindfulness.

A fun fact about me is that I love to travel and explore- I have visited 22 different countries to date.

I look forward to meeting you and working together.
